International Development Cooperation, (AECID) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian affairs (UNOCHA), our actions have been clearly aimed to alleviate the life conditions of the refugee population of Syria, through humanitarian assistance, technical aid supply and physiotherapy and rehabilitation services aimed to disabled and vulnerable people in the Za’atari camp and in the host communities in Jordan and Lebanon. And, at the same time, we seek to guarantee the protection of the rights of disabled people affected by the war in Gaza and to cover the basic needs of displaced people in Iraq. I would like to point two aspects that have structured our work. In the first place, the consolidation of one of the corporative goals of the Foundation: To contribute in the promotion of women. This year has been marked by a considerable increase of actions aimed to their empowerment, through education and professional training, in order to promote their proper insertion in the labour market, in all continents where the FPSC is present: Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe. In the second place, I would like to highlight our compromise with the youth, through the support to juvenile organizations and educative institutions, in both Spain and other European countries, the realization of leisure and free time activities with a high component of values education during summer, the promotion of volunteering and exchanges programs to promote to foster interculturality among young people. Another important milestone has been the launching of an ambitious strategy of awareness raising aimed to make known the life conditions of our beneficiaries, contributing to a increased awareness of this reality among the Spanish population. I would like to express my gratitude to all the people that has responded generously to our call to send our encouragement as an expression of solidarity, to the Christian refugees families in Iraq during Christmas holidays. And also to those who have collaborates with our campaigns to help refugees, either economically or launching initiatives that have support this FPSC activity in favour of those who need it the most. This common effort is allowing the Foundation to achieve its accomplishments. I reiterate my sincere appreciation, for that, to donors, funders from the public or private sector, partners, enterprises, schools, universities, city halls, our committed work team and volunteers from different countries. Finally, i would like to highlight the mark of confidence in our work of some private foundation, particularly “la Caixa” Social Work and OFID that, despite the difficult context we are immersed in, are contributing very genereously to the continuetion of our labour.
