camp dedicated to inclusive theater activities. In order to boost and spread this campaign, the FPSC counted with the priceless contribution of people from the Spanish theater like Juan Echanove, Luisa Martín or Luis Olmedo. These campaigns counted with the support of youth associations such as Pino Alto, in Segovia, or Tamaral Joven, in Leon, which organized different charitable activities in April: the theater play “Cinderella” and a handicrafts fundraising bazaar respectively. Likewise, the FPSC started also the “Ecuador Emergency” in April, aiming to fight the most urgent needs caused by April’s devastating earthquake.
UNITED NATIONS
Since 2004, the FPSC is acknowledged as an entity with General Consultative Status before ECOSOC of the United Nations. Since then, the FPSC tries to contribute to ECOSOC’s work sharing its deep experience in development cooperation, acquired thanks to its contribution in countries of North Africa and the Middle East. Likewise, in 2013 FAO granted the FPSC the Liaison Status, a formal memorandum of understanding according to which both institutions make invitations to the other to participate as an observer in the meetings they may think of interest to the other. This aims to collaborate through consulting and informal contacts and exchange �iles relating subjects of shared interests. In such a way, the FPSC has participated in different events of FAO in Rome: at the presentation of an alliance for food security and peace with the honorees of the Nobel Peace Prize; at a high level event aiming to fight the structural causes and consequences of gender inequality in rural areas and in the identification of the main challenges, gaps, opportunities and collaboration actions to maximize the fundamental role of women and small girls for the eradication of hunger and poverty. On the other hand, due to the situation the world is going through, with the highest level of suffering since the World War II, and in line with the frame set by the World Humanitarian Summit of the United Nations, held in Istanbul on May 23th and 24th, the FPSC accepts and reaffirms its responsibilities relating the Agenda for Humanity with the slogan One Humanity: Shared Responsibility in the exercise of its work and in all activity areas. Relating to this, the FPSC has contributed to the debate on effectiveness and the challenges of Humanitarian Aid, according to the Director Plan of Spanish Cooperation 2013-2016, with the organization of the seminar “New humanitarian actors in the Middle East” by CEMOFPSC.
