Other initiatives relating humanitarian aid
The FPSC’s engagement towards the Syrian refugee population has also developed into several other incentives. Therefore, in January, the FPSC joined the calling of more than 120 humanitarian organizations worldwide and UN agencies to urge the world population to raise its voice for asking the cease of the Syrian crises and the suffering of millions of civilians. These statements have been acknowledged with two awards by institutions such as MAPFRE and Bankinter Foundations, in June and December respectively, in recognition of the job done at the Za’atari’s clinic in Jordan. Likewise, the FPSC has been allowed to participated in the 5th Meeting on the humanitarian crisis in Syria and Iraq, set up by the Pontifical Council “Cor Unum” in Rome. And, eventually, the FPSC has been included in the UNHCR’s Rapid Response Referal Program (2016-2018) for Lebanon. Furthermore, the increase of humanitarian aid activities in the last years has been promoted by the FPSC’s experience in security measures, resulting in the integration of the FPSC in the Access Group of the NGO Spanish Coordinator in 2016 with the task of giving formation in security measures to the expatriated staff.
